Today I will talk about which 4 books every vegan should own.
Books are the doors to education; reading will save our nation, I truly believe that. And as vegans we truly do need to know things to be able to educate others, to live a cruelty free life that is compassionate and kind. My first vegan book was My Beef with Meat by Rip Esselstyn and since then I have read tons of great books about nutrition and watched a countless amount of documentaries, all with the intention to learn and expand my knowledge on animal rights and veganism. Today I want to inspire you to read a book or two in the next month and purchase them all if you can! Instead of spending money on things that will definitely not be of any help to you, books are the only thing worth investing money in.
What 4 books should every vegan own?
- The China Study – a nutritional Bible, everything you need to know about nutrition and how to live a healthy life on a plant based diet is in this book. If there is only one book you intend to own about veganism, let this book be the chosen one.
- Skinny Bitch – do not let the title scare you away, it is one of the best and most fun written books about vegan nutrition. Especially written for women who starve themselves not knowing that they can eat in abundance and keep that healthy figure. It really is one of the best books written on the topic of veganism and a really good summer read.
- My Beef with Meat – the very first book about veganism I got from my dad and it covers everything from where to get Vitamin B12 to why we crave meat; it also mentions the cruelty behind animal agriculture and offers great recipes.
- How Not to Die – one of the newest books written by the incredible Dr. Michael Greger who has been making his way in the media, talking about plant based diet and how it can prevent and reverse a disease.
How many of them have you read already? Let me know in the comment section and we can discuss if I missed any important books that are a must to be on our book shelf. Keep in mind that reading a book once will give you a few tips but having a book available to you at any given time, ready to be read over and over again – that’s how you learn and nutrition is something we should all be educated about because it is the basic thing we need to survive.
Now, to do some self promotion because as a business woman I must feel comfortable doing it, here are two of my eBooks that I have written and I totally believe they are awesome and helpful – Vegan Online: A Guide to Online Activism and Happy Vegan, Angry Vegan: How to Deal With Non Vegans And Stay Sane.
