The best podcasts for twenty-somethings! (2018 edition)

I am constantly listening to podcasts – whether I am doing the dishes, sitting on a bus or walking to the store. This love started about two years ago and it has only gotten stronger.

Podcasts are even more popular now in 2018 and since it is almost the end of the year, I want to share with you some of the best podcasts that I think can bring value to you if you are a twenty-something.

I mostly love listening to true crime podcasts (true crime is my guilty pleasure) but as you will see because I will share all the podcasts I am subscribed to, I don’t discriminate and I have a pretty diverse taste when it comes to podcasts.

I don’t know when was the last time that I listened to actual music on my phone. To be honest, I don’t even listen to music that much anymore since I found podcasts.

It’s one of the things that I have on my self-care list of things to do when I want to brighten up my day. I love learning and hearing about things that happened in the past or listen to a good conversation between two people who are the best in their industries.

Without further ado, here are the best podcasts for twenty-somethings (and everyone else):

You will love it if: You love conversations about politics, identity, science, religion, consciousness, and meditation.

You will hate it if: You are a social justice warrior who refuses to look on the other side.

You will love it if: You are interested in true crime and supernatural conspiracy theories. And if you want to laugh at loud in the middle of the street because that happens to me every time I listen to the show. The jokes are very dark but very funny.

You will hate it if: You get offended by really dark humour and you get annoyed when they don’t get some facts right about serial killers.

You will love it if: You are interested in having an honest look at conspiracy theories and seeing if there is any actual evidence for them.

You will hate it if: I don’t think there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You want to hear conversations about meditation and mindfulness.

You will hate it if: You don’t like things to get too woo-woo and unscientific sometimes.

You will love it if: You are interested in the latest tech news and you want to know how to protect yourself in this digital era.

You will hate it if: I don’t think there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You want to hear celebrities get real and if you want a fun entertaining episode to listen to.

You will hate it if: You find Sim as annoying and kiss-ass as I do because he is the only thing about the show that I can’t stand.

You will love it if: You want to hear success, and hardship, stories from women who made an impact in their industry and rose to the top.

You will hate it if: I don’t think there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You are interested in astronomy and science.

You will hate it if: I don’t think there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You are interested in true crime.

You will hate it if: I haven’t listened to enough episodes to know if there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You are interested in true crime and you love a good story that will keep you on your toes from the beginning to an end.

You will hate it if: I haven’t listened to enough episodes to know if there is anything to hate.

You will love it if: You are interested in veganism, zero-waste living and being a compassionate human being.

You will hate it if: You won’t hate it.

You will love it if: You are interested in conversations about entrepreneurship and being the best version of yourself.

You will hate it if: You cannot get past the fact that she seems to be on the far Left.

I hope you found any interesting podcasts. Like I said I am completely obsessed with listening to them and learning about how the world works and how people think.

As with everything else, I am careful to only follow those who bring value to me. There are so many great podcasts but sometimes you outgrow them or they simply don’t resonate with you anymore.

How do I know that I need to unsubscribe? I check when the last time I listened to an episode was. If I haven’t listened to anything in the past 3 months, I know it’s time to let go and be thankful for what it taught me.

I would love to hear any recommendations you have as I am always on the lookout for new podcasts. I especially love true crime so if you know of any dark and morbid shows, please let me know in the comment below.
