new atheists

Okay, so you’ve decided that you want to look on the other side of your beliefs.

You want to understand how the world works and what the actual truth is. A few years ago I did the same thing and although it came with a lot of challenges, I’m glad I opened my eyes.

Believing in a god is so much easier, isn’t it? You feel protected, guided and loved. Everything is a lesson from him and everything happens for a reason. You know angels are looking out for you and that death isn’t scary.

Believing in god just brings you more joy… until it doesn’t.

Maybe you were religious and all the rules you were supposed to follow just drove you crazy because they made no sense. Maybe you were in a cult and you feared for your life. Or maybe you were like me, a part of this whole New Age movement and at one point it hit you that New Age is not that different from religion or cult.

No matter where you came from, we all have one thing in common. We don’t believe in god and we want to break free from beliefs based on faith.

That’s why I have here resources for new atheists that helped me and will hopefully help you, and some new resources that I wish existed before I became an atheist:

Podcasts:

Books:

  • Waking Up by Sam Harris.
  • The Moral Landscape by Sam Harris.
  • God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens.
  • The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.

Debates, interviews and speeches:

YouTube channels:

These are the things that I was absorbing when I first started doubting god and angels, but I also added a handful of podcasts and YouTube channels that I love today and I believe will be of great help to you.

When you have faith in something that makes you feel good, and when your whole life is about pleasing that someone that makes you feel good, it will take some time to really let go.

I was struggling with finding meaning in life for about a year after Richard Dawkins shattered my whole belief system, but it was worth it. Because once you come out of that bubble, you realize that reality is so much more beautiful.

Since I still have you here, let me just remind you to follow me on Twitter and Instagram. I post mainly lifestyle-related things but there are some good book and podcast recommendations that I often share.
