Every year there are more and more vegan products on the market. That means that there is a demand for cruelty-free items that are ethical and kind.
Let’s get one thing clear, though. A product can be both vegan and cruelty-free or just one of the two. So if you buy a CF mascara it does not necessarily mean that it is also vegan.
Thankfully, there are now many brands that use certificates on their products and you only need to look for them to know whether or not the product is definitely vegan-friendly.Â
But why is it important to support vegan products?Â
Because when we demand more ethical and animal-friendly choices, we shift the whole system. Until now, the majority of people didn’t really care about how their lipsticks and detergents were made so nothing has changed.
It’s not that people want rats and cats and rabbits to suffer while being tested on, but they don’t do anything to change it. If we are not consciously choosing to support vegan products, how will these companies know that times have changed?
How will they know that masses and masses of people are sickened by the idea of helpless beings being tortured for the sake of makeup?Â
By going out there and investing in these items, you are voting for a cruelty-free and vegan future. You are helping shift the entire beauty and cleaning industry and you’re creating a kinder world for everyone.
This goes both for completely vegan companies and for vegan products made and sold by non-vegan companies.
By supporting vegan products made by non-vegan companies, you are showing there is a demand for more of these types of items. That means that eventually, they will most likely release more animal-friendly things.
By supporting vegan companies you are helping them not only to survive but to grow and expand. If you know anything about owning a business then you are aware that profit is everything. If your business is not making money, you are dead.
Here are some of my favorite cruelty-free brands that offer amazing vegan products:
- Alverde has beautiful natural products. I currently use their foundation, lip balm, hand cream and hair conditioner.
- Afrodita is a Slovenian brand that dominates the beauty shelves in all the stores. I am obsessed with their shampoos and hand creams (I regularly use about three of them).
- Catrice has amazing foundations that I love to use in the summer months when I get a bit of tan on my face.Â
- Langhaar Mädchen has the best hair conditioners that are specifically made for women with long hair. They are very light and perfect for summers when you want to use something light on your hair to hydrate it.
I like knowing that the customer holds all the strings in his hands. If millions decide that they will support vegan products, the market will offer more of that to the consumers.
I want you to be aware of how powerful you are when you invest your money in a product that you love and believe in. Everyone is trying to grab your attention but you are on a mission to free all the animals of the world.
So if they want your money to be invested in what they create, they have to change. We cannot only put pressure by protesting, but we also have to hit them where it hurts: their income.
