make your life cosier

I love making my life cosier, and I love the word cosy itself.

There is something lovely about making this hard life peaceful and soft and fluffy. Listen, it is better to cry on a soft bed than on the floor, and cappuccino makes everything better, even depression.

Lately, I’ve been craving this ease that comes with laying on a bed full of pillows while hearing the summer birds through an open window. This is life. This is true pleasure and joy.

The way to make your life cosier is to fill it up with things that you love. Fill it up with what makes your heart sing and what brings a smile to your face.

This world is already full of misery and cruelty, and we absolutely must make the most out of it and take our pleasure into our own hands. It is on us, no one else to make our lives cosy.

If you are ready, here are 4 ways to make your life cosier:

  • Drink hot, delicious beverages.

I’ve said it a million times and I will say it again.

Cappuccino makes me happy and brings joy to my life. Not just any cappuccino, though, no sir. I love mine to be instant and toffee flavoured – perfectly sweet and perfectly quick to make.

I love this hot chocolate with marshmallows and my all-time favourite toffee flavoured cappuccino.

Lately, I’ve also been indulging in cocoa with marshmallows, which are my nieces favourite. Although, she just eats the marshmallows and leaves the beverage to me.

Drinking something warm not only warms up your life but on these cold days, warms your whole body. Find your perfect drink and enjoy one sugary cup a day – but not too much either.

  • Wear whatever the hell you want.

Honestly, tell me what is cosier than wearing the clothes you actually want to wear that actually make you feel comfortable?

I love big sweaters, men’s shirts and leggings. I also wear sweatpants to important meetings, sometimes even to the big events. I do not give a fuuuuuck.

If you feel cosy when you wear your father’s sweater vest, wear it. If you prefer long dresses, wear that. Whatever clothes you chose to wear, do it because you want them, not because society deems them acceptable and appropriate.

  • Lather yourself in creams and lotions.

Now, in the wintertime, our skin is craving nourishment and moisture. It wants to be soft and fed, and we want it to look and be healthy.

As someone who struggles with extremely dry hands, skincare is crucial for my well-being and happiness. I am not exaggerating. No one can be truly satisfied with life when their hands are so dry that they are bleeding.

So gather all the creams and butter and lotions in one place, and lather yourself with them. Feed your skin because once it is happy, you will be happy. And happiness = cosiness.

  • Delete most of your social media pages.

Recently, I’ve been using Instagram less and less. Not just because it does absolutely nothing for my blog but also because it stresses me out.

In the past, I already deleted Facebook and Twitter. Now, the time has come for me to slowly close the chapter on Instagram, at least for now. Who knows what will happen in 6 months or a year?

But at this moment, my life is cosier with less social media in it.

What about you? Are you satisfied with how you’re spending your time and on which platforms? Can you make it cosier? More peaceful?

My favourite one is, of course, drinking cappuccino and cocoa because they are so warm and lovely. I have my own rituals that I do every day and they keep me sane and relaxed.

Just imagine how great it would feel to wake up knowing that no matter what happens, at the end of the day, you have your own cosy habits that trigger positive emotions.

I have my hot beverages, season 5 of Friends, and ASMR. You might have other things. I hope you do. You must. Everyone is too unique to have identical lists, although ideas such as mine can help.

Dive into whatever brings you pleasure. Do what makes you feel relaxed, calm and at ease. You deserve to feel cosy in your daily life and adorn yourself with everything soft and nice.
